The loan allows you to borrow up to 90% of the cost of education (tuition and living costs). Which means you need to have the remaining 10%. If you have already made a deposit or payment towards your education such as tuition fees, make sure it is paid from your account so that it counts under the 10%.
You need to offer a property as collateral that has a value of at least 150% or more of the loan amount you are borrowing. This property doesnt necessarily have to be under your name, it can even be from a relative but youll need their written consent.
The loan incurs interest of 2.5% per year and can be repaid over 10 years. You can start repaying the loan once you are done with your studies. And you dont have to work for bml until your loan is paid.

Anybody who invested in GMCE?
Everyone I met who invested claims to have made 1000s of MVR in profit.. Everyone apparently broke even.. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say they’re all liars 🫠

Many knew it was a risky investment. They only got in for a quick buck. Only recently when each and everyone started investing, they pulled the rug.

Early investors and top recruiters could have made profit. The rest are likely to have suffered losses even if they don’t admit. That’s how pyramid schemes work 🤭

A lot of people did make a profit and got their investments back, especially before everything hit the news. But what’s really troubling is how this whole thing spread. Referrals weren’t just coming from random people. They came from the police, MNDF, schools, even members of parliament. In places like schools with over 200 teachers, or big government offices, imagine the kind of pressure people must have felt when a colleague or someone in authority encouraged them to join. Many knew deep down that it might collapse, but they still pulled others in, just to recover their own money or make a bit more. So, Yes, there are many, many people who made money, some made a lot. But for all those “many” there are far more who didn’t make a profit and ended up with losses.

one guy invested 100 USDT for me. I didn’t make any profit, but he made a lot. He was invited by his cousin, who also made a profit. That cousin was invited by a friend, and even he made a profit. It seems like I’m the only one with an unrealized profit or loss.

Ponzi, pyramid, extortion are common everywhere. We are subjected to same and get drawn into them. But, by per capita, we seem to be quite ahead in gullibility.
GMCE is a more recent one, where many lost their money, a few became millionaires.
It doesn’t even come close to the medieval Arabian-folklores that we as a nation have invested ourselves in for centuries. In terms of money-given, time-wasted, intellect-stifled, induced-animosity against others, started wars and conflicts, the fear instilled with the awaiting hellfire, etc, the religions of the world are the biggest scams going on in the world. We are permanently stuck in one ourselves. Related institutions made, and makes billions off the gullible in these elaborate concoctions.
So, GMCE is a drop in the ocean. We are constantly donating money to those at the top, thinking we are getting, in return, a first class ticket to a non-existing heaven, where all of our desires will be sated. Ingenious scam! Incredulity knows no bounds!

Diving or snorkeling?
Travel
Hi,
I'm coming to Maldives for Xmas and I find myself wondering should I only do snorkeling or scuba diving? I'm a certified diver so no need for any training courses whatsoever. My question is is there anything spectacular or awesome to be seen that can only be seen whilst diving or will I see the same stuff when snorkeling? The diving itself isn't something I'm looking forward to but if that's the only way to see let's say Manta rays or eagle rays I'm up to it. Too many times I've been sold a diving trip which is basically the same than snorkeling so that's why I'm asking. In Vietnam we even had a dive in like 8m and there were people snorkeling above us which literally saw the same stuff than us but with a fraction of price 😂

You could see manta rays and eagle rays while snorkeling too. But manta rays might not come up to the surface and stay deep. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with the dive

You will miss out a lot if you don’t go scuba diving. There are many spectacular dive sites that have the top reef at deeper than 10 or 15 meters.

Road Safety
If you are accompanying a small child who is unable to sit by themselves on the motorcycle, please use a harness or a tether to ensure their safety, your safety and safety of others.
If you see someone who is riding with a child without any safety harness please give them advice.

I actually witnessed a very interesting scene last night. There was a couple with a small child, around 2–3 years old, riding on an Airblade. They ended up in an accident with a Bangladeshi expat who was on a bicycle. When the police arrived at the scene and asked about the crying child like, was the kid on the bike?—the father went ballistic and said, ‘Kaleymen balan jehey kameh nooney eheii, mii bangaalhii lhaa gengoss golhiyah laa.’ Then, shockingly, the guy punched the expat in the face and broke his nose. The audacity of these wannabe privileged Maldivians truly fascinates me.

I sometimes see people riding holding their kid with one hand...
I think there was a police ad about these things, they get stopped and asked if they don't love their kid or something. And some friends chatting while riding on the highway, they get offered a table and coffee on the road.

It would be very barely doable. You'd need to get a basic room for rent in the capital Male' (or anywhere outside an expensive resort). Booking.com shows there's several rooms available starting from $165 for 2 adults/5 days.
The money you'd have left over would be just about enough for food. You'd have about $85 left over so that would be around $17 per day (around MVR 262 per day) for food. Here's a list of random food costs to give you an idea of how you can use that -
A pizza is around MVR 150-180
A 500ml bottle of coca cola is MVR 15
A 1.5L bottle of water is MVR 6
A cheap meal for one person in a local cafe' is MVR 40-60 (rice + curry)
Eggs are MVR 2.5 each
You can get snacks/biscuits from stores anywhere from MVR 5 to MVR 50
You can make your $250 stretch out a lot more if convert it to local currency at street rate instead of bank rates.

For 250 USD over five days? Yes you can. That's 50 USD per day.
Most places you can get a super cheap room for 350 MVR per day. Food is very doable if you manage it well. Cheap rice options for 75 MVR or less per person (No drinks, just water). So if you both have 2 meals per day, that's 300 MVR in total food costs.
Stay and food total 650 MVR. You'd still have a lot of wiggle room if you go even lower. Better still if you manage to convert the USD at blackmarket rates.

A 5-day $250 budget challenge in Male is achievable. First find someone's couch to crash on (explain your challenge – the host might even let you stay for free), or find basic rooms for around 500 MVR ($25 at 19.50 MVR/USD) per night. For food, eat at local cafes where meals cost about $3, remember to exchange dollars on the black market (rate ~19.00-19.50 MVR/USD) and pay only in MVR to save significantly – budget roughly $90-$100 total for food for 2 people. Use cheap public ferries: $4 covers round-trip airport transfers for two, and visiting Hulhumale costs similarly. Walking around Male is free. Even with conservative estimates, you'll likely stay under $250, leaving money for small extras and souvenirs.

Our diet is not balanced and at most unhealthy. Doctors i have consulted to have criticised our eating habits almost every time.

Honestly, one of the biggest issues with our eating habits is how carb-heavy and oil-laden the average diet is. Almost every meal revolves around white rice, white flour (in the form of roshi), or sugary tea. Processed snacks like cream crackers and packaged noodles are super common, even for breakfast or dinner. And don’t get me started on the reliance on deep-fried short eats (hedhika), which are everywhere and hard to resist.
Fish is a staple, which is great in theory, but it’s often cooked in lots of oil or coconut milk. And vegetables? Not as common as they should be. A lot of households don’t prioritize fresh produce, either because of availability, cost, or just habit.
There’s also a crazy amount of sugar in everything.. people drink tea multiple times a day, each cup loaded with sugar. Even baby food sometimes gets sweetened way too early.
It’s a mix of tradition, convenience, and lack of awareness about long-term health.

Ah yes! Japan has very good eating habits yeah? Balanced diet and no sugar at all I think... And they look good, younger and in shape isn't that something motivating enough for us Maldivians to fix our eating habits? I mean I'm amazed some people cannot tolerate a little hunger between meals so they eat too much. But we all fast through Ramadan doesn't that teach us hunger tolerance and self control?

According to my wife's gynecologist, bad diet and poor lifestyle choices are the two biggest factors, while climate change could also be a contributing factor. A lot of us eat too much ultraprocessed food, often without realising it. We need to cut down on foods high in sodium, white flour, and high sugar foods.
Regarding lifestyle, she advised to avoid skimping on sleep. And to do moderate exercise 4 to 5 times a week, and she recommended to do that early in the morning to obtain valuable vitamin D. For those with vitamin D deficiencies, she recommends taking low dosage supplements.
It's a lifetime condition that has to be managed, she said. Also, more men than we think probably have fertility issues, but most don't get tested because infertility is mistakenly thought to be an issue that afflict only women. A lot of men, when tested, are found to have issues with their sperm quality, motility or volume.

no one’s ready to listen but obesity yes pcos causes weight gain and difficulty in losing it. but in “most” cases pcos often starts after the weight gain and then it all just goes down after that

Unhealthy dietary habits, lack of physical activity, and obesity are also causes of PCOS, along with genetics and hormonal imbalances. It is not a metabolic issue. Yes, it is know to be triggered by weight gain.
Getting your facts right doesn't involve downvoting others, who contradict your opinions.

From which textbook did you get that information? Pcos is not just an issue of infertility. It's a metabolic issue. A syndrome. Not something triggered by weight gain. That metabolic issue leads to weight gain. No one should listen until you get your facts right buddy..

My younger sister, 16 is also diagnosed with pcos. The main cause of infertility in maldives. Just because a statement can be taken in a negative way doesn't mean it should be.

Females get diagnosed with a multitude of reproductive health related issues from as young as 11 years old.
Maybe, just maybe, pause to think a statement through first. PCOD / Endo are both painful and affect fertility and reproductive health a lot. That doesn’t mean a young teen diagnosed with one of those is actively speaking about fertility but they most certainly might be put on birth control to manage the condition.

Not just Maldives. South Asia in General. And mentioning only women is bias. Actually as much as half is male infertility.
I remember a recent study that talked about just how prevalent it is in South Asia. Primary causes being epidemiological changes and population growth. Late marriage, obesity, pcod, stress, lifestyle, heat, and to a large extent, the south asian diet. A lot of men who have low sperm count, also have low sperm quality due to lifestyle choices.
So it’s a combination of many. I know many couples who had difficulty conceiving and in most cases, both partners had issues.

Diet and energy drinks and too much caffeine and not enough movement or sunlight due to box office sit jobs. Smoking does its thing too. Also stress and depression. Its a workload to maintain healthy here but its still doable. Discipline and that extra effort in this corrupt country. It is what it is

Diet is such a problem. Not just among women, but you’re right. It’s mostly a south asian issue, where our diet consists large portions of carbs and very less protein and vegetables. Our cultural food usually has a lot of oil and unhealthy fats. And you’re right about diabetes. People don’t take “sugar-intake problem” seriously.

Covered doesn’t mean we are fat. I knw a lot of women who are as skinny as models, but look’s fat when they wear loose abayas. You are just insecure to not be able to see nice bodies since we cover. And covered doesn’t mean stop exercising. Me and my frnds go to a female only gym, go swimming on Fridays and stuff. Ur type of women are women who wear babies clothes right( onesies and stuff on beach)😂😂

New rider on airblade ,struggling with speed control & confidence (riding on an island with bad roads)
Local
Hi guys , I’ve recently started learning to ride a scooter (it’s an old Honda Air Blade, automatic). I live on an island with no proper roads ,just sandy and bumpy paths ,so it’s been a bit hard. I get really nervous when people are around, and especially when other drivers come in my path. I panic and feel like I’ll mess up or get into an accident. My main issue is speed control ,when I try to slow down, the scooter either slows down too much or stops completely. I really want to build enough confidence to drop my son to school. How long did it take you to feel safe and confident riding? Any tips for staying calm and in control would mean a lot 💗

I'd say try to practice on empty roads as much as possible and always drive slowly. Anyone can speed but mastering driving really slowly is key to riding good imo, especially in our islands. Try to follow the naturally smoother paths between the bumps, stick to your lane and practice using both brakes together. And always try to ease into your brakes, so much so you won't even feel any jolt back with you stop.
It's just something you get used to with experience.
Edit: I can't imagine there's anywhere anyone needs to get to that quick on any island so don't think about what the person behind you might be feeling. Drive at whatever pace you're comfortable with.

The more you ride the better you get. You won’t suddenly get better at riding by asking anyone on Reddit. Just ride. And one day it’ll just become second nature and you won’t even notice.

got confident until i got into a dozen of accidents. ive been riding for around 8 years and yet i would excercise caution when im riding around fas madu areas. the best way to improve your confidence is to just simply ride more. alternatively bodu haru jassaafa practice holding and releasing the trottle.

I took around 1 month to fully gain my confidence. but whenever someone goes on my path and do something stupid my confidence crashes and I get nervous the whole ride. I think U should also drive more on empty roads and slowly drive with people. It'll help

Actually loosen the back wheel brake just a little more. It gives you more space to squeeze and then push all the way down to stop. It gives you more control on the slowing down. There's a little nut on a rod by your back wheel, that you'd notice moves with the brake lever. Give it a lot of slack and try and see your sweet spot as you tighten it.
Ask me anythin, I'm happy to help.
Edit - corrected to 'nut'

The more you ride, the better you get. The more time you spend on your bike, the better your intuition becomes about how it handles, how quickly it accelerates, how soft or hard the brakes are, and how the weight is distributed. Once you start riding a lot, it all becomes muscle memory. Same goes for the roads, driving the same route a lot, you pick up the bumps, the flat spots and layout.

For my last 2 orders from Temu, i got the update saying it was signed and delivered even though i did not receive the packages. But i got messege from pickpost to pick it up within 2-4 days after i got that Update from Temu. So i think you'll get it soon.
I think Temu gives the update signed and delivered when they hand over the packages to the post office. Not sure about it though

Yes, PSN is not available in the Maldives. Luckily, the workaround is fairly simple: just get an account with a US address. Any country where the service is available will do really but there are two things you ought to keep in mind: 1) you’ll be stuck to that country for ever and 2) you’ll need a credit/debit card issued from that country. This is the reason I suggested US because you can easily purchase top up cards of any amount from Amazon to pay for subscriptions and purchases.

Welcome to the “club”, I also got told I need to reduce it drastically or start meds when the doc checks it after 2 months.
There’s a subreddit for people that are going through it as well r/cholesterol and the main thing I’m trying is increasing the amount of fiber, especially soluble fiber in my diet. Apparently that’s supposed to help. Green apples have a decent amount. And increasing fruits and vegetables in my diet too. Trying to exercise more as well but unfortunately only been able to go once or twice a week instead of the 4/5 that I want to go.
Will let you know how it goes for me and good luck.

Ooh some stuff my mom did;
use grounded almond instead of sugar. I think if almond powder is there maybe that works?
drink butterfly pea flower tea everyday
go swimming every morning
go for a walk in the evening once every few days
eating oats for meals It went down a lot in a month im not sure about the exact value but i will update you once im sure!! She is like almost 60 so i imagine it would have been difficult for her to bring it down to do it so im sure you can too. Its really about consistency and willpower. Good luck with your journey. That's the actual lonuziyaaraiy. There was a small shrine and tombs there like medhuziyaaraiy. Now it would be roughly where lonuziyaaraiy park is.

No I remember seeing a picture of some kind of fort there. It was on the thundi.
It was called (something) buruzu, kinda like kalhuthukalaa koshi or bandaara koshi. There was another buruzu in the harbour called bodu buruzu.

Here's a very detailed article on it. Buruzu refers to places built along Male' bodu faaru to place cannons. You can see the buruzu marked in detail in the map in the article but it wasn't very big. The big structure you are seeing is the ziyaaraiy and better photos are in the article.

And yes bodu buruzu was the big gun fort near the rasmee jetty now. The rest of the buruzu supposedly wasn't as big or fort like that as that one.

Correct. Buruzu is located usually on the north and northwest sides. There is a reason for that.
Male’ and its natural formation made Male’ a very difficult island to penetrate. Because the wave breaking reefs were located on east, south, west. Therefore the only access was north. Hence needed extra protection with highly controlled and observable port. Making Male’ a fortress.
This could even be the reason Male’ remained the capital.

Pretty sure that's a fort. Much of the Dhekunu Falhu area got reclaimed and I guess the fort got absorbed and later demolished.

It was that little building near helipad once upon a time dho? I remember festivals and gatherings being held in this area. Sitting there to watch the great waves of lonuziyaaraiy kolhu was a core memory. Is it still there behind lonuziyaaraiy park?

I have no idea what that building on the map is but it’s absolutely not that. Alirasgefaanu ziyaaraii is where he fought and was martyred which was on the beach on the western side of male’ (in maafannu). The building or location circles is on the south east. Where the bridge is now. No idea what was there in 1922 though.

Real big question
Culture
So why does raahjje therey meehun talk like this. I'm talking generally medhu raahjje and uthuru I don't talk in Malé bas because I'm from dhekunu so I've this question So they switch ޝ and ސ.. I've noticed in older generations but in also younger generations as well. Example: Someone's name is shaain, shaaina or shamaa And they would pronounce it saain, saaina, samaa I find it so weird. Like literally why? It's would literally be registered and written clearly as ޝ in their id cards. And still they would switch ޝ and ސ. 💀 I'm genuinely confused and concerned.

Honestly, if I were a foreigner, I wouldn't consider moving here right now, at least not long term. We are still a developing country and our capital is dealing with serious overcrowding, centralization issues, and a cost of living crisis.
That said, this mainly applies to Malè. A much better option would be working at a Maldivian resort, where food and accommodation are usually provided, and even on the lower end, monthly income would be over $1,000.
I guess it really depends on what you're looking for?

I asked ChatGPT what it thinks and it says this: 💀
Maldives is just 1,000 tropical loading screens where the Wi-Fi never shows up. Everything looks like a postcard until you realize you’re stranded on a sand pancake, sweating through your soul while a gecko judges you from the ceiling. Boats are Ubers now. Tuna is religion. Sunscreen is currency.
And then there’s Malé — the final boss of urban claustrophobia. Imagine cramming a whole nation into a rice cooker. No space, no peace, just motorbikes doing drag races in alleys the size of shoeboxes. You trip once and end up on the other side of the city. The air tastes like humidity and diesel. Buildings stacked like Jenga blocks held together by prayers and 4G trauma.
Come for the views, stay because the ferry left without you.

Thiki Jehi Thaana
I’ve been trying to figure out the correct way to use “thiki jehi thaana” for a while now, as I have to write a lot of reports in my line of work. I try to make sure everything is as accurate and consistent as possible before anything is published, and this particular issue has always been tricky.
Recently, I’ve been trying to set a clear rule that my team and I can follow, like relying on the Radheef whenever there’s uncertainty. But even that’s proving unreliable. There are obvious inconsistencies in the Radheef, for example, “Ganoon” doesn't include the dots in the “Gaafu,” even though it clearly should.
Has anyone found a good resource or guide that helps clear this up?
Would really appreciate any input from those who’ve dealt with the same issue.

Same. Wish we could just stop using it, but then there are a lot of societal and cultural expectations where if thiki jehi thaana is not used in obvious words, the readers have a subconscious bias that the work is of lesser quality.
As someone who places a lot of emphasis on consistency in my profession, this is very frustrating. Sigh!

Thiki jehi thaana is used to write arabic words in dhivehi letters.. if you want the correct thikijehi thaana. First know how the arabic word is written in arabic... for example... haa ge thireega thiki jahaanee arabin liyefa onna iru bodu haa eh iniyyaa.. bandi felhi haa nuvatha akirukolhu thaa inna lafzeh nuliyaane matheega ves thireega ves thiki jahaagen. Haa dhivehin liyaa iru thiki matheega jahaanee arabi lafuzu liyefa onna iru khaa eh iniyyaa.. alifu mathee thiki jahaanee arabi lafuzu ga ghainu iniyyaa.. alifu thireega thiki jahaanee arabi lafuzu ga aini akuru iniyyaa.. Seenu thireega thiki jahaanee arabi lafuzu ga soadhu iniyyaa.. seenu matheega thiki jahaanee arabi lafuzu ga loadhu iniyyaa. Gaafu mathee dhe thiki jahaanee arabi lafuzu ga gaafu iniyyaa TV thakaa sarukaaru gina liyumuga ves hunnanee hageegathuga nubaikoh thiki jahaafa.
Gaazee as in judge dhivehin liyaanee gaafu mathee dhe thiki jahaafa. Ghaazee as in ghaazee building liyaanee alifu mathee thiki jahaafa. Thiki jehi thaana liyaa iru arabi aslu lafuzu ingen laazimu vaathee aharen ves thaaeedhu kuranee thiki eggothah ves jehun huttaalan.

Turns out they're two different guys. I also thought it was the same guy. Yameen Rasheed is the one who was murdered, he was a political activist. The guy who created Maakana show is Yamin Rasheed, he's an animator.

If you're ever in the capital Male' then go to the local market and pick up some local snack packs. There's loads of different sweet and savoury ones - I'm sure there'll be some you'll love! While the resort you're staying at can offer you a lot of traditional Maldivian cuisine, you might have more fun trying it straight from the source from other local islands or Male' too.

Hi first of all welcome to our beautiful nation.
As for your trip, make sure you go snorkeling and swimming as much as you can. Try to involve sea in all your activities, be it fishing, excursions or diving.
Usually in terms of a resort it’s quite limited when it comes to activities and varies resort to resort, but they would offer some pretty nice activities.
Also try to visit a local island while you’re here, just to experience the local living and food.
Lastly, never miss a sunset cuz genuinely there’s nothing like a maldivian sunset.

I don’t know why everyone is blaming the girls. The bike was obviously going WAYY too fast, he should’ve slowed down when he saw the group of pedestrians ahead.
And for the people saying “why are they walking in the middle of the road”, do you not see the parked vehicles on the side of the road???

I feel like there should be speed limiters on vehicles at this point, too many Dhivehin develop a god complex when they get on a vehicle.
Also I just took a look at the video. They're throwing blame at the women because they werent holding his hand. I feel like that blame is very situational because if the vehicle came out of a sharp turn they couldnt have known, but if it was coming from a straight road they can see the vehicle coming and it would also be the family's responsibility to hold on to the kid.

Yeah it's crazy how fast people drive when there's pedestrians around too. Not like these streets have pavements either. It literally takes 1.5 seconds for the kid to stray away onto the path of the bike.
Drive slower in general, you're really not saving time by speeding. It's not worth it.

there is no reason to drive so fast in the islands. but unfortunately this is becoming common.

I checked the vid and asked a friend that lives in Thoddoo abt it. the 3 girls were cousins that were walking by that happened to be near the kid, not the ones watching the kid (although I do think one of them could've still done something). the dude doesn't really have the best reputation in the island either. the woman that ran and took the kid from the guy was the mom apparently, and she ran to the hospital which was in front. he apparently couldn't stop the bike but I'm not too sure about that. Luckily the kid didn't have any serious injuries alhamdulillah. still don't think the parent should have let him walk around while bikes are going by.

Yes both parties suck here. Zero awareness on both sides OP just wants to defend one side.

That's very reductionist imho. Sure, vehicles on small islands and driving fast are terrible and stupid.
However, everyone there already knows there are vehicles, and there are idiots driving around like that.
Given that, there is then a responsibility for the parent or guardian are whomever to try and ensure a reasonable amount of safety for the child by keeping an eye on it.
The child itself is objectively a dumbass, but gets absolved of responsibility because of the standard social doctrine of absolving children from it until a certain age.
The scope of responsibility doesn't end at an ideal scenario or moral absolutes. It extends to the current situation and realities.

This is ridiculous. It’s upsetting to see people blaming the women when the real issue is the biker’s speed. Kids should be able to walk freely in places like this without fear. If you’re on a bike, especially on a narrow path near pedestrians, it’s your responsibility to slow down and stay in control.

50% Biker and 50% parents. Parents were dumb af to let the child roam zero awareness. Biker should have been going slower

We saw the same reaction last time when a woman holding a baby got hit while crossing the road in hulhumale.
I don't know what it's like in that island, but you should definitely be looking after your child more when you're out on the street. I would never let my kid roam freely on the road. The kid moved toward the middle as the bike was getting close. Kids are unpredictable.
That said, the biker was going way too fast and this probably wouldn't have happened if they had followed the speed limit.

This accident could’ve been easily avoided if he was going even 7kmh slower.
In the hml woman’s case, i think she was more at fault because she was crossing a busy road without a zebra crossing.

bikers are so shameless here. They don't understand/care that pedestrians have the right of way.
They don't believe that they have to stop at zebra crossings EVERY time. As a pedestrian I hate the narcissistic inconsiderate egotistic reckless blockheads that don't stop unless I stick my hand in the direction of their ugly face.

They are morally bankrupt. Emblematic of how corrupt and selfish the country has become. Even on this post people defending the driver for breaking the law.

I think both parties should be careful.
pedestrians with kids should hold them. ensure the kid is kept on the side of the buildings. and if they are allowed to walk freely, they should grab them the moment you hear a vehicle, irrespective of the speed its coming
driver should slow down if they see a kid ahead. they are unpredictable. even when someone is holding their hands, they might run off. seen this happen quite a lot. when they do it suddenly its hard to catch them.
so i feel there is some level of neglect on both sides. we have to be responsible, both for our own safety and that of others

If the vehicle came out of a turn sharp enough for them not to register the sound and headlights of the cycle, it could not possibly be going at that speed. If you look closer at the video the driver was not even going that fast, he hit the child dead on and the kid got out with no injuries. This would be completely different if the driver was actually driving at dangerous speeds. Also, the kid was not there with the 3 girls seen in the video, his mom was nearby and she was paying 0 attention to him. You all are too quick to jump on the blame game with your bias towards something you dislike.

The excess vehicles and parking in places forcing pedestrians more and more onto the road will claim more and more lives.

If we are going to only blame the girls for this, we are normalizing speeding in residential areas. And why are you ignoring how fast he was going?
